I loved the food when I first visited True Food Kitchen at their flagship Scottsdale location, but unfortunately, both the quality and service have been steadily declining over the past few years at the Plano legacy west location. Today, we happened to be in the area and decided to give them one last try before finally giving up on the restaurant. The service was disappointing from the start. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed and unable to manage his section effectively. We waited nearly 10 minutes just to get water, and each time he passed by, he apologized for the delay. The restaurant was not even particularly busy, which made the slow service even more frustrating. The food was equally disappointing. I ordered the chopped salad, which consisted mostly of romaine lettuce and what appeared to be dry, unseasoned grilled chicken with an unappetizing texture. After I shared my feedback, the restaurant removed the dish from the bill, which I appreciated. However, the manager never came by to discuss the issue or ask about our experience, although I do appreciate the gesture of comping the meal. A must go to! Food was amazing- vegan burger with gouda cheese, chopped salad, ancient grains bowl, and spinach mushroom pizza were all phenomenal! Ambience was amazing but the real highlight was the service. Our server, Mark, was awesome! Definitely come check out True Food Kitchen!

Tried True Food Kitchen yesterday. Overall very good food with different and healthy options. For appetizers had the charred cauliflower which was nice and flavorful and edamame dumplings in veg broth which I found was a unique filling for dumplings. For the main dishes had veggie burger made with a mushroom and beet patty. I thought it would be sweet. But it was quite savory. It came with a vegan cheese. But had them substitute with regular smoked gouda. Daughter had the korean noodle bowl with organic grilled tofu and wife had the ancient grains quinoa bowl. Both bowls were well made and quite tasty. In addition to the great food, the staff was very friendly. Will definitely be coming back.

Look at what you gave me. Aren’t you ashamed? I ordered a TFK Classic sandwich and you gave me this. Does this look like that sandwich or did you eat the rest of it? Look at the guacamole how black and old it is. Today, before placing my order, I spoke with your manager and told them that recently your kitchen management has been terrible. Everything is stale not clean and not fresh. The guacamole is always dark and old and the fries are always stale and hard. You should know that the fries are kept under a stove, close to the dirty floor and near a drain. Once, while I was waiting for my order, I personally saw one of the staff, without gloves and without using utensils, putting fries onto a plate, then dropping the plate full of fries on the floor, picking it up, placing it back, and returning the rest of the fries into it. I don’t know why I didn’t report that person and stop ordering from this filthy place, because I didn’t want them to get fired. So why hasn’t management taken action? This place turned out as a pleasant surprise. Ordered TERIYAKI QUINOA BOWL for lunch and it was delicious. Good portion size and taste was amazing. Vibe of this place does not disappoint as well. Great service. Might be on a little pricier side but worth the visit for food and vibe.
